He swallowed and lifted his hand to trace his fingertips along the letters that were not, he realised now, black, but a deep navy blue. He knew without trying that no amount of scrubbing would make these words disappear.
Be my coach, Victor!
The words told him with more certainty than any amount of butterflies in his stomach or distracted daydreams ever could.
He was in love.
He was in love with Katsuki Yuuri, his soulmate.
A Soulmate AU in which, when you fall in love with your soulmate, the last words they said to you appear on your skin.
Yuuri took more deep breaths, hanging on to the mad faith Victor had in him. Yuuri was obviously doing something right to make Victor think he could pull this off. It was his own hang-ups. That had to be it. This was way out of his comfort zone, and he'd jumped into it eagerly, like he had the moment Victor first started showering him with attention.
Part 2 of Dream Weaver
Professor Yuuri Katsuki spent the majority of his creative writing career publishing under a pen name. He had never met a fan, but when fate finally gave Yuuri a chance, of course it's the eccentric new Physics professor on campus, Victor Nikiforov.
Victor is uncertain of his relationship status with Yuuri, and decides to take matters into his own hands. Some fluff along the way.
Yuuri's husband is possibly not as oblivious as he seems, because he grins and asks, "Have you never looked up Yuuri?"
"There's a porn actress with the same name who went into politics," says Nate, "so she's most of the results, and some stuff about figure skating."
"Some stuff about figure skating," Victor says ruefully to Yuuri.
Drunk Yuuri tends to do things Sober Yuuri would never dare to.
Like accidentally get Viktor Nikiforov pregnant.
Oops? I did it again with my idol
“What’s the big deal? Christmas isn’t all that important – ”
“It is to me!” Yuuri winced at the petulance in his own voice. He was about to apologise when Victor cut in.
“Well then maybe – maybe this was never going to work! Maybe you should just have stayed in Hasetsu!”
A pit of fear was opening up under Yuuri’s feet. What if Victor was right? What if this life they had just begun to build for themselves wasn’t going to work out, and they were both wasting their time and throwing away their careers for nothing?
“Maybe I will,” he snapped back, and hung up.
...
Yuuri and Victor are supposed to be spending their first Christmas together in St Petersburg, but as new fears and old anxieties rear their heads, the cracks begin to show.
“You already know what I look like naked,” Viktor says, “so I think it’d be quite easy to pretend I’m your boyfriend.”
Yuuri gets himself into trouble at a bar before he even gets drunk. Luckily for Yuuri, his hot neighbor and longtime crush, who Yuuri tries not to peek at while he wanders around his apartment, is also at the bar.
Agent Katsuki Yuuri left his figure skating career years ago, after a failed Seniors debut. But when the Worlds competition receives a bomb threat, he's thrown back into the competitive scene. Fortunately, a community of skaters and one Viktor Nikiforov are there to catch him-- though Yuuri's idol is certainly acting suspicious...
About half of the population had a soulmate, and some of the things they wrote on their skin showed up on the other ones in the same place. Not all got transferred however, so holding conversations was practically impossible. Yuuri and his soulmate had tried a few times in their teens, but it got chopped, and some messages never came through at all, leaving for strange conversations and a risk of misunderstandings.
Luckily, Yuuri’s soulmate wrote a lot, even though most of the things that got through to Yuuri were doodled hearts, strange sketches, phone numbers and appointment notes. Yuuri wasn’t sure if it was because his soulmate was forgetful, or if they just didn’t know how to work their phone calendar, but they wrote down a lot of appointments on their arms.
