Professor Lucifer Morningstar, a scholar of American literature, treasured one book above all others. In his bleakest hours, that story had been his lifeline, reminding him that every soul is worthy of a second chance.
Its title was The Hazbin Hotel.
What Lucifer could not possibly have known, however, was that the man with whom he had—much against his will—recently become acquainted, a certain Alastor who delighted in belittling his favourite novel and his taste in literature, was in fact the very author of that book.
In a pragmatic attempt to spur Hell's infuriatingly ineffective king into doing something useful for a change, Alastor finds Lucifer becoming far more attached to him than he had intended and scrambles to deal with the consequences.
Lucifer is just trying to figure his shit out and not completely fuck things up with Charlie.
Alastor should have registered when he first presented, his name and details added to the list advertising available Omegas throughout the kingdom. At twenty-four, he should’ve been servicing Alphas for six or seven years already.
He wasn’t small or soft or pretty. He was tall, thin, and calloused. After the initial contract for his virginity, he’d become a means to an end for poorer Alphas and spend his next twenty or so years warming their beds until his whelp rearing days passed.
Registering now was the only one way he could make enough money to save his mother.
He just hoped she forgave him for it.
AKA
Omegas, the only secondary gender able to give birth, are a rare and precious resource. As a result, the Crown created the Omega Registry for Alphas to bid on their heats in the hopes of producing an heir. Alastor has spent his whole life pretending to be a beta, but outs himself when his mother falls gravely ill in order to save her life.
He never expected his virgin contract to go to King Lucifer Morningstar, let alone for the king to want to keep him.
Lucifer discovers Alastor, the radio demon, the man who puts himself up on a pedestal, who challenges the king of hell himself for a battle over his own daughter....
Is hurt?
Lucifer can't help but have two thoughts co-exist in his head at the information he'd been given.
Hang this above the deer demons head for months to wound his ego!
Or,
Oh, that's a fatal blow from an angelic weapon, maybe I should help him before he dies.
When the Radio Demon arrives at his door step, bound by Lilith to serve the king and his two year old daughter, Lucifer is inclined to send him away. But his little girl insists on keeping the dangerous demon.
Two years later Alastor is still bound by the deal and irreplaceable to the king's life. A royal tour through the seven deadly sins domains brings the two closer together as instinct and ill advised agreements tempt them to becoming more.
Slow burn and smut with Hellova boss crossovers and co parenting by two dubious idiots.
Due to the meddling of the Queen of Hell and the Cabal of Overlords, Lucifer Morningstar and Alastor the Radio Demon are arranged to be married. Neither are okay with this.
It is even worse for newly minted Overlord Alastor, who hasn't even been in Hell for very long. Locked in a situation where he is being forced to wed the ex-husband of the woman who holds his leash.
Alastor hates Lucifer. That much has always been obvious, so when he has to lower himself to ask that petulant puny king for assistance with healing a wound, it takes him a while to even douse his pride enough to go and ask.
Lucifer hates Alastor. That became apparent from the get-go, seeing as Alastor was always taking his job of being a dad to Charlie! He can't have that. And when said asshole comes up to ask for assistance, Lucifer is immediately wary. He flat-out refuses. Go figure, he's the devil for a fuckin reason. It takes Charlie to beg him to check on that Wendigo asshole to even get him to realize that something is up. A chance of healing in the bayou Alastor created caused them to have to spend time together. Time that Lucifer and Alastor hate to admit that it wasn't so bad. Things are...slightly different. They..understand each other a bit more.
But Alastor still dislikes Lucifer, and Lucifer still dislikes him.
Or so they thought. A chance connection that proves to be almost too strong pulls them into a whirlwind of emotions. This kind of love is not found often. Follow these two goofballs navigate their crazy relationship...situationship..thing.
“I know Alastor’s been gone for a long time, but murder, Luci? You love him.” Ozzie’s voice was soft and it made Lucifer clench his teeth, baring his fangs at the room at large.
“That is NOT Alastor.” Lucifer would know his partner anywhere, and that hack sure as shit wasn’t him. But he was pretty flawless if even Ozzie thought he was.
“Luci…baby…” Ozzie’s voice took on the annoying, I’m-worried-about-you tone and Lucifer had to fight to not start breathing fire.
“Alastor is dead."
--
Lucifer's partner has been missing (presumed dead) for seven years. He's coming around to accepting that. And then he's visiting Charlie's Hotel and there's a demon pretending to be his Alastor? He thinks the fuck not!
Maman did say that a way to a man’s heart was through his stomach.
But in this case, the man in question was a former angel and the King of Hell who was skipping meals and Alastor decided to do something about it.
The morning after the gala, Lucifer needs to set a few things right. Including un-horsifying Blitz, recovering from the anti-magic, and the small matter of coming clean to his daughter about his inappropriate relationship with her hotel manager. Should be simple, right?
