Cas had been behaving strangely for a few days now, and Dean didn’t like it one bit. He had stopped wearing his favorite trench coat Dean loved to tease him for, had started using some sort of aftershave for omegas that covered his awesome smell, and was actually making an attempt at taming his hair so that it didn’t look like he’d just been fucked by an alpha.
(Okay, so, that last one might be a ‘back off’ signal for Dean’s benefit because he liked to groom the omega, and his ridiculously disarrayed hair gave him a good excuse.)
First, Dean was confused as to why an amazing omega like Cas thought he had to change anything about himself in the first place.
Then he saw him chatting with Benny when their whole group went out for drinks one night, and everything became clear.
On the plane to his brother’s wedding, Dean falls for the scent of a mystery omega who tries to calm him down from a panic attack by letting Dean scent him. After the landing, what are the chances of ever finding said omega again?
Not too bad, as it turns out when Sam introduces him to his old college friend ‘Cas.’
If only Dean hadn’t made such a bad first impression and Cas now thought Dean was some arrogant knothead…
‘Alpha Needed: Looking for an alpha with a calming scent, preferably mated, for scenting purposes. Twice a week, one hour. Pay: $20 per hour plus expenses.’
In order to get his anxiety attacks under control, Cas is supposed to regularly scent an alpha whose scent makes him feel safe.
Dean could really use the extra cash and the ad sounds like the easiest 20 bucks an hour Dean has ever made.
But then things get complicated…
In a world where witches are supposed to stay away from familiars, Castiel runs a secret ‘familiar shelter’ to put witches in need in contact with familiars who can help them.
When none of his familiars are free to help a new witch in town, Cas takes it upon himself to help the handsome stranger out. Except helping Dean is not as easy as he’d thought when he doesn’t even seem to realize that Cas is anything other than a cat.
⁂
During the day, Dean keeps going back to the animal shelter to walk the dogs. (Because they need help and Dean is a nice guy, not because of the cute owner who keeps blushing so prettily when Dean is flirting with him.)
At night, this strange cat keeps bothering him. How does it keep getting in and out of his house anyway?
Castiel’s success rate for matching humans who stay together for the rest of their lives is the best among his kind.
Enter Dean Winchester, an alpha who breaks up with the perfect match Castiel found for him not once, but twice. If he wants to save his reputation as a cupid, Castiel has no other choice than to go to Earth in order to find out what this alpha’s issues are.
It is supposed to be a quick trip. But things don’t always go as planned…
