Malec

Malec is the canonical ship of Alec Lightwood, a Shadowhunter and Magnus Bane, the High Warlock of Brooklyn. As soon as the two characters meet for the first time, there is paltable chemistry between them. Magnus is instantly attracted to Alec and whilst Alec is also attracted to Magnus, he has troubles in the beginning accepting his sexuality. With time however, Alec can no longer deny his feelings and openly kisses Magnus and the two begin a relationship and eventually end up getting married.

Malec is by far the most popular pairing in the Shadowhunters fandom. It's populairy has many reasons. Malec isn't just a LGBTQ+ pairing, it is also an interracial one. Additionaly Malec is despicted as a very healthy and mature relationship. Whilst the characters have their troubles, just like any relationship has, they face them head on, always talking out their issues whilst being honest with one another. Add to that that Malec receives plenty of screen time and you have one amazing relationship.
