Stargate Atlantis is a spinoff of Stargate SG-1. It is an episodic television series about a group of international explorers from Earth living in the Pegasus Galaxy in the lost city of Atlantis. The pilot episode explains how the group arrives in the city.
McShep
McShep is the non-canonical relationship between Rodney McKay and John Sheppard from Stargate Atlantis. It is by far the most common slash ship in the fandom and quite possibly also the most common slash ship in the entire Stargate fandom.
McShep began pretty early, as the first episode of Stargate Atlantis already showed potential attraction between the two characters. The next episode showed that the two - despite only knowing each other a couple of days - had already formed a strong friendship. A friendship which grew as the show went on. John and Rodney are shown to spend a lot of time together, and not just because they work together. They are shown to spend their free time together as well; for example they are shown to play games or discuss comic characters.

Jack / Sam
The ship of Jack O'Neill and Samantha Carter is the most common het ship of Stargate SG-1. The ship could be categorized as canonical, as the series often brings up the fact that both characters have feelings for each other, however the two are never officially shown as a couple.
