This category is a collection of all additional tags which may be used to describe a fanfic. These tags range from Arranged Relationship over Misunderstandings to Pining.
This tag is used for fanfics which involve the Alpha / Beta / Omega trope, wherein some or all characters have defined biological roles based on a hierarchical system, with the terms originating from animal behaviour research. Alphas are generally dominant and able to impregnate Omegas. Omegas are generally submissive and can get pregnant. This is not always the case however. Sometimes the situation is reversed and the omega is the dominant one.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where there is an age difference between the two main characters. The age difference is generally around 5 - 10 years, but can be more. The age difference of the characters can lead to problems they need to face. These problems can then lead to misunderstandings, pining or even a temporary break up. It's also possible that the age difference leads to problems the characters have with society or with friends or relatives.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where the relationship between the two characters was arranged by someone or something. In the course of the fanfic, the two characters develop feelings for each other, if these feelings weren't there to begin with.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where the two characters bond in some way, meaning they can either feel each other's emotions, communicate without words or feel the other's presence. This tag is often coupled with the a/b/o tag, as alphas and omegas bond with each other.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where the characters try to solve a case. What sort of case the characters are working on depends on many factors, including which ship the fanfic focuses on and if the fanfic is set in canon or AU. It could be a murder investigation, a supernatural hunt (Destiel) or a superhero mission (Ironstrange / SamBucky). The case is mostly the focal point of the fanfic and spans the entirety of the fanfic.
The tag is also used if there is a mystery that the characters try to figure out. These mysteries usually have a fantasy theme to them, like hauntings or curses. The mystery is also the focal point of the fanfic. Fanfics with this tag usually read like thrillers or fantasy books and the relationship becomes almost secondary.
This tag is used for fanfics where one or more of the characters in the story are non-human. There are some exceptions however.
Even though Castiel is an angel in canon, this tag is primarily used when he is not an angel, but another mystical creature. This tag is also used however, if he is an angel but not as they are portrayed in Supernatural, meaning he has either an actual physical form and/or his wings are always visible.
As the characters of these ships are all non-human in canon, this tag can only apply when they are anything but what they are in canon.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where there are cultural differences between the two characters, which often result in misunderstandings. These cultural differences either occur because the two characters are not the same species or from different countries.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics which mainly feature an established relationship. The fanfic focuses on domestic scenes, loving interactions and the couple just being a couple and going through life together.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where the two characters are in a fake relationship, meaning they aren't really dating and are just pretending to be for whatever reason. In the course of the fanfic, the two characters of course actually fall in love, if they weren’t to begin with.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where the two characters start dating early on in the fanfic and the majority of the story focuses on domestic issues and scenes. As a rule, the two characters start dating before roughly 1⁄3 of the story has passed. Fanfics with under 15'000 words cannot be fast-paced.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where the two characters are forbidden to be together or their relationship is frowned upon, whether that be because they are of different rank (Master/Servant fics), class or there are rules in place. Another reason could be the age difference between the characters.
Find fanfics

Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where the two characters know or get to know each other through online sources, like chats, games or dating apps. The tag can also be used if the characters mostly communicate through texting, phone conversations or letter writing, but don't meet in person until much later.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where one or both of the characters are hopelessly in love with the other but are either too scared to say something or are convinced the other doesn't feel the same. The pining is mostly increased if there are misunderstandings or they have to pretend to date.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where the two characters used to be in a relationship but have since split up or are seperated. The break up has occured before the fanfic starts and the plot of the fanfic is about how the two characters reconcile and eventually get back together.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where the two characters take a long time to start dating. As a rule, the fanfic needs to have more than 15'000 words and 2⁄3 of the story must have passed before the characters start dating. The fanfic must also either have the Pining or Misunderstanding tag.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics which either involve two or more detailed and descriptive sex scenes or if the fanfic has under 15'000 words and about 1⁄3 of the fanfic is a sex scene. The sex scene must involve at least two parties, meaning masturbation scenes do not count.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics which include the soulmate trope, meaning that every person has a soulmate. The characters either have a soulmate-identifying mark or they wait for a certain event to happen, which indicates that they met their soulmate.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics which include Valinor and/or the Halls of the Dead, mostly meaning that Bilbo goes there to get back Thorin. This tag can only be used for Hobbit fanfics.
Find fanfics
This tag is used for fanfics where one or more of the characters have wings. Even though Castiel is a canonical angel, canon Destiel fanfics only have this tag if the wings play a certain part in the story and are usually visible for some reason. The same rule applies to Ineffable husbands fanfics, as both Aziraphale and Crowley have wings in canon.
