Yuri on Ice is a Japanese sports anime television series about figure skating. The series was produced by MAPPA, directed and written by Sayo Yamamoto with original scripts by MitsurÅ Kubo under the chief direction of Jun Shishido. The series revolves around the relationships between Japanese figure skater Yuuri Katsuki; his idol, Russian figure-skating champion Victor Nikiforov; and up-and-coming Russian skater Yuri Plisetsky; as Yuuri K. and Yuri P. take part in the Figure Skating Grand Prix, with Victor acting as coach to Yuuri.
Victuuri
Victuuri is the canonical ship of Yuuri Kazuki and Victor Nikiforov. Yuuri is a big fan of Victor and was inspired by him to pursue a career in skating. Yuuri viewed him as a role model and dreamed of one day surpassing him. Yuuri even named his poodle, Vicchan, after Victor, further showing his great admiration. When Victor shows up unexpectedly and tells Yuuri he will coach him, Yuuri is at first rather distant. Their relationship gets closer the more they get to know each other, culimating in Victor kissing Yuuri after Yuuri performs a quad flip at the end of his free skate in episode 7 and the two exchanging golden rings in episode 10.
Victuuri is by far the most common pairing in the Yuri On Ice fandom, which probably stems from the fact that it's the main canon ship.
